Albert Jizane and Connie Masiba visit Berkhamsted - 2010

Berkhamsted School were delighted to welcome two teachers from South Africa for a week in May.
Mr. Jizane spent time observing lessons, building friendships and establishing the link between his school and Berkhamsted Prep. Ms. Masiba was based in the Senior School where she also attended lessons and strengthened the relationship between Sandi and Berkhamsted.
The visit included trips to Cambridge, Windsor and London. While visiting Cambridge Ms. Masiba was pleased to renew contact with Charly Marchant who had spent a month of her Gap Year at Sandi.
During the week pupils and staff surprised our visitors by performing a ‘Flashmob’ dance. The dance was filmed and can be seen on Youtube (below).
This was also a fundraising event with the aim of creating a third bursary for a Sandi pupil to attend university in South Africa. The visit was a great success and has deepened the friendship between our schools.
